To the girls and boys who have never understood their self-worth, I am so sorry.

When you are constantly being told by society that you are worthless,

That you have no reason to be here because you don’t fit in with the crowd,

It is difficult to understand that you are valuable.

People tell you they love you but you don’t believe them,

A handful of people say you are beautiful but that only helps so much,

When they’re outnumbered by the people calling you ugly.

But when you watch your teacher squeeze the fat on her stomach that she doesn’t have,

You begin to realize that the struggle of worthiness may never end.
